These areas refer to the five key domains of intervention that CrAFt's New European Bauhaus Impact Model considers essential for guiding and evaluating complex urban initiatives.
The participation level refers to the degree or extent to which individuals or groups are actively involved or engaged in a particular activity, project, or process. It assesses the depth of their involvement, contributions, and commitment, ranging from minimal or passive participation to active and dedicated participation.
The New European Bauhaus (NEB) aims to promote the values of sustainability, aesthetics, and inclusion in the design and transformation of urban spaces. It emphasises the integration of environmental, social, and economic considerations to create harmonious and innovative living environments.
According to the Smart City Guidance Package, there are seven stages to plan and implement smart city projects. These stages propose a logical and coherent roadmap for city initiatives involving many stakeholders.
CrAFt is co-organising a session on urban co-creation for sustainability at the European Week of Regions and Cities, to be held between 7 and 10 October 2024 in Brussels.
The European Week of Regions and Cities is an annual four-day event during which cities and regions showcase their capacity to create growth and jobs, implement European Union cohesion policy, and prove the importance of the local and regional level for good European governance.
Organised by the EU-funded DivAirCity and CrAFt projects, the session “CrAFting DivAirCity: Co-creating inclusive climate-neutral cities” focuses on how to ensure that co-creation is fit-for-all in terms of time, place and pace to develop environmentally sustainable cities for all.
This workshop will feature a panel of practitioners, local authorities, and EU representatives, discussing innovative co-creation processes to make our cities greener and more inclusive. A practical session will follow with participants sharing best practices, policy advice, and tools to engage citizens. The session’s programme and speakers will be announced in August.
DivAirCity is a 4 year project, funded by the European Commission, that “recognizes, accepts and celebrates differences” in cities and turns them into a true value to address the emergency of air pollution and climate change. DivAirCity addresses the equation of social inequality, health conditions and air pollution in cities. It involves 26 EU organisations and 68 international external stakeholders, and creates replicable pilots starting from 5 EU cities: Aarhus (DK), Bucharest (RO), Castellon (ES), Orvieto (IT), Potsdam (D).
