NEB ambition

The ultimate ambition of the New European Bauhaus is to achieve transformation. To do this, the NEB Compass has identified specific levels of ambition that outline the desired outcomes for each of the NEB values.

Action areas

These areas refer to the five key domains of intervention that CrAFt's New European Bauhaus Impact Model considers essential for guiding and evaluating complex urban initiatives.

Participation level

The participation level refers to the degree or extent to which individuals or groups are actively involved or engaged in a particular activity, project, or process. It assesses the depth of their involvement, contributions, and commitment, ranging from minimal or passive participation to active and dedicated participation.

NEB values

The New European Bauhaus (NEB) aims to promote the values of sustainability, aesthetics, and inclusion in the design and transformation of urban spaces. It emphasises the integration of environmental, social, and economic considerations to create harmonious and innovative living environments.

Implementation Stage

According to the Smart City Guidance Package, there are seven stages to plan and implement smart city projects. These stages propose a logical and coherent roadmap for city initiatives involving many stakeholders.

About CrAFt

We cooperate with the Mission Board on Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities and the NetZeroCities platform. And support cities in designing and deploying Climate City Contracts based on the experience from CrAFt’s Sandbox Cities —Bologna, Prague, and Amsterdam—, as well as more than 70 CrAFt Reference Cities (pdf).

We are testing and sharing collaborative local governance models to harness the value of inclusiveness, aesthetics and sustainability towards climate neutral cities. Download the project’s fact sheet.

Support to the European Mission on Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities

Assist the NetZeroCities Mission Platform, the Mission Cities with the design and deployment of Climate City Contracts, and the New European Bauhaus.

Conduct sandbox testing in three cities

Test and share collaborative local governance models in three Sandbox Cities —Amsterdam, Bologna and Prague— to harness the value of inclusiveness, aesthetics and sustainability towards climate neutral cities.

Promote cooperation among 70+ CrAFt Cities

More than 70 cities have joined the CrAFt community of cities. Find out more about them (map and pdf)

What CrAFt can offer you

Work with us to test and share collaborative local governance models to harness the value of inclusiveness, aesthetics and sustainability towards climate neutral cities.

The CrAFt (Creating Actionable Futures) platform will help cities to make their climate-neutral transformations beautiful, inclusive and sustainable.

With universities and schools of arts and design, we aim to create a bridge between science and practice to speed up the transformation towards climate-neutral cities across Europe.
